Visit Ledger.com/Start
To begin the setup, open your web browser and go to Ledger.com/Start. This page is your hub for all things related to your Ledger device, including firmware updates, Ledger Live app download, and detailed setup instructions.
Step 3: Install Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the official app for managing your Ledger device. It allows you to check your balance, send and receive cryptocurrencies, and install apps on your hardware wallet.
- Download Ledger Live: Available for both desktop and mobile platforms. Choose the version that suits your needs.
- Install the App: Follow the on-screen instructions to install Ledger Live on your device.
Step 4: Set Up Your Ledger Device
Once Ledger Live is installed, it’s time to set up your hardware wallet.
- Connect Your Device: Use the provided USB cable to connect your Ledger device to your computer.
- Initialize the Device:
- For new devices, choose the “Set up as new device” option.
- For existing wallets, select “Restore from recovery phrase.”
- Choose a PIN: This PIN code will be used to unlock your Ledger device. Choose a secure, memorable PIN.
- Write Down Your Recovery Phrase: Your device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. Write this down on the provided recovery sheet and store it in a safe place. This phrase is crucial for recovering your wallet if your device is lost or stolen.
